Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has approved the sum of N309,584,041:80 for payment of foreign scholarship to 86 indigenes of the state studying in India and Egypt.

The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji isah Abubakar-Tunga announced this while briefing journalists on the development in his office in Birnin Kebbi.

He said"the sum of N228,150,148:00 is for 63 students studying in India, while N81,433,893:80 is for 23 students studying in Egypt.

"The remaining 50 foreign students shall have their expenses settled within the shortest possible time."

He added that in February 2024, the governor had paid local scholarship to all the state students studying in 36 tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The suspect along side his wife, Tijani Anjolaoluwa were unable to perfect the stringent bail conditions given them by the high court. Thus, they were remanded at the Suleja prison till the next hearing.

Meanwhile, two of the major suspects fingered in the allegation of cyber bullying and cyber stalking of the Chief Executive Officer of Afriq Arbiritage System, Prince Humble Eteng and Engineer Fimienye Awajioma have been arrested by the police.

It would be recalled that the  board of directors of Afriq Arbitrage Systems after an emergency meeting last week condemned in strong terms the attitudes of Prince Humble Otu Eteng, Michael Okoh,  Okoi Daniels, Engineer Awajioma and others about their nefarious activities to injure the longstanding reputation the organisation has maintained and in a final resolution, resolved that the above parties be sued for defamation and  has slammed a ten million dollar lawsuit  with a suit number w/2011/2024 against them at the High court of the Federal capital territory in the Abuja judicial division on Monday, April 15th, 2024 on charges bothering on cyber bullying, attempt to life and property, lies and unlawful incitement and instigation against him, his family and organisation.

Yesterday, Yahaya Bello experienced the biggest embarrassment so far since he started his political career; operatives of the EFCC barricaded his Abuja residence in an attempt to arrest him for financial crimes and it only took the intervention of the current governor of his state, Usman Ododo to rescue him from the hands of the security operatives.

The former governor in a smart move approached the court for an injunction against the EFCC but the agency also immediately secured an arrest warrant against the former governor. Just a few hours ago, the federal government ordered every person invited by the EFCC to submit themselves honorably and meanwhile, EFCC had mentioned that military help would be used to arrest Yahaya Bello if he continues to evade arrest.

All of these happenings have only indicated the readiness of the commission to arrest the former Kogi governor, causing an unprecedented embarrassment for the embattled politician.

On the other hand, Primate Ayodele who is blessed with the gift of prophecy had said in October 2023 that he foresees the arrest of Yahaya Bello. The man of God mentioned that the former governor will be arrested and embarrassed while expressing that he doesn’t think there is any solution for him.

The attempted arrest of Yahaya Bello and the embarrassment he was made to face yesterday has definitely fulfilled the prophecy of Primate Elijah Ayodele.

The concern citizens of Kebbi State have slammed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over it's outbursts against Governor Nasir Idris saying the party is delusioned on the various achievements recorded by the APC led administration within 10 months in power.

KCC in a statement made available to the press said the PDP sponsored write up against the governor was to mislead the people of Kebbi State under the pretence of expressing it's concern as opposition party.

It said the allegations that the governor was restricting peoples freedom of expression, refused to address issues bothering on the state's development and excluding other parties from the distribution of palliatives were figment of the imagination of the PDP as the party is swimming in the pool of its ignorance.

"The Governor will definitely not sit down to watch citizens publishing vulgar and defamatory statements likely to endanger public peace all in the guise of freedom of expression.

"It is part of the governor's function to prevent any breach of public peace by taking proactive measures which obviously includes issuance of warning to anyone making such attempts.

"If it were other governor he would have ordered for the arrest of the offending party".

It added that if the cleric offends the principle of legality that's likely to cause breach of public peace the governor would not fold his arms and watch.

The statement said Governor Idris have been busy to ensure smooth completion of the Birnin Kebbi township roads 

"And where was the writer when the governor extended the teachers retirement age and introduce additional funds to pay them with a view to revive education in the state.

"Where was the writer when the governor extended his hands of fellowship to the PDP and they rejected it.

"Where was the writer when the Governor supported the clerics and urged them to pray for peace of the state', it said.

One hundred and forty women farmers in the northwest zone of Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna,Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states have been given N500,000 each to boost agricultural activities in their respective states.

The beneficiaries women farmers are drawn from the various agricultural activities rice production, fisheries, animal husbandry and other areas to drive the sector.

The first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the wife of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, in her address said the renewed hope agricultural initiative was to support women farmers in the country to enhance pumber harvest.

She said the maiden edition of it was launched in Imo State for the South East, in Abeokuta for the South West and now in kebbi for the northwest zone to promote women participation in agriculture.

"The Tinubu administration recognizes the important role of agriculture for the sustainable growth of the nation's economy and it's food security", she said

She said each state of the north west zone would get 10m for 20 beneficiaries women farmers. "The first ladies of each state will coordinate the renewed hope agricultural initiative in their respective states with the cooperation of federal ministry of agriculture", the first lady said.

She added that the initiative would not only transform the women lives but will boost the zone's food production and by extension the country at large. 

Earlier in her speech, wife of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris said her office would complement the first lady's initiative with solar pumping machines for the women farmers and 100 persons living with disabilities would get N100,000 each to boost their businesses.

She said Kebbi women farmers would take good advantage of the initiative to boost their various agricultural businesses.

Governor Nasiru Idris in his address said the concept is timely and would stimulate women involvement in agriculture activities across the nation.

"Agriculture is a way of life and women have been paying a crucial role in the agricultural business.

"We must support them to ensure growth and sustainability of the sector and strengthen our industries to drive the nation's growth and development", he said.

Information available to us revealed that when the hardened criminals invaded the lounge on Friday, April 5th, 2024 where Jesam was billed to address his workers, they were demanding for him and when they learnt he couldn't make the meeting as expected, they descended on the staff and customers threatening to kill them in his stead. They also went away with the company’s properties such as laptops, equipment and gadgets of staffers and customers.

Micheal Okoh who has been ranting on Social media against the CEO of Afriq Arbiritage System has been exposed along with Prince Humble Eteng,  Okoi Denock as partners in crime with Abayomi oluwasesan who is in prison for defrauding the financial platform to the tune of $87 million dollars l

According to reports,  Micheal Okoh is an investor in AAS who has benefited from the scheme and has withdrawn over three thousand dollars which he ever disclosed to his gullible followers until the evidence was uncovered and exposed to the community.

Aside from that, information revealed that Micheal Okoh, Prince Humble And Okoi Denock have been working in tandem with Abayomi in plotting the loot from AAS and threatening the life of Jesam Michael and his family. In a series of life threatening messages the plotters swear to eliminate him and his family for standing on the path of truth, justice and for arresting Abayomi in recovering the loot. Also, these revelations are not unconnected to the fact that these people engineered Abayomi not to return investors money back to the community. 

However, the long arm of the law will soon reach them as Abayomi who has willingly confessed to the heinous crime he committed to the company is arrested and taken to court where he is Remanded and Micheal Okoh and his cohorts we learnt are also on the radar of the security operatives for collaboration and cyber bullying.

Sadly, the threat to life of the CEO and his family by these people should not be taken lightly as just as Mr Micheal Okoh said in his video that he will bring him down, same day,  gunmen were sent to invade  AAS lounge on the same day he was to address his workers for the year.

According to the security officer of the company, the ugly incident has never happened before on any of their investments until this brazen threats from Mr Okoh and others.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kebbi State Chapter at the weekend bemoaned the statement credited to Governor Nasir Idris threatening to deal with any Cleric found cricising his administration.

A statement signed by the Strategic Communications Unit of the PDP in the state condemned the governor's outbursts against the Islamic clerics saying that the PDP was 

gravely disturbed by the latest turn of events and matters arising from the Traditional Durbar and Sallah Homage to the Executive Governor of the State by the Gwandu Emirate Council.

It said "The occasion, supposedly an avenue of joy and merriments, and a moment for sober reflections in line with the teachings and lessons of the Ramadan period, was tragically turned into an arena for settling personal scores with some individuals perceived to be opponents of the Government.

"It is pertinent to acknowledge that His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gwandu, Maj. Gen. Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar CFR, represented by the Wazirin Gwandu, raised some fundamental problems bedevilling our dear State, including the menace of the ever growing number of Almajirai and other Out of School Children, the worsening Unemployment situation, and issues around Sanitation and beautification of the state capital, amongst others.

"But instead of responding to these critical areas and also taking advantage of the occasion to showcase his modest achievements and unfold plans towards addressing these teething concerns, the Governor veered off track and resorted to addressing frivolous matters that could best be administratively handled by a Ministerial Department, or the State Preaching Board. 

"To our utter shock and amazement, the Governor was recorded by his own media aides making open threats to deal with any Cleric whose activities are found to be critical of the present administration, without recourse to the constitutional provisions of fundamental freedoms of expression and association".

It added that the decision to single out APC members as preferred beneficiaries of the Government's incentives as clearly stated in the Governor's speech was not only undemocratic and illegal, but also negates the sanctity of the Oath of Office he had sworn and pledged to uphold.

"Let us also remind His Excellency that the PDP holds the Office of the Executive Governor in high esteem, and equally respects the sanctity of that Office, being a 2-time Occupant of the exalted Office from 2007 to 2015. 

"We, therefore, found the utterances contained in the video as demeaning, condescending,  unstatesmanlike, and completely unbecoming of the holder of the Office of Executive Governor", it said.

The direct attack on Israel by Iran has no doubt started a global crisis which several countries have taken sides already. The United States, United Kingdom have thrown their weight behind Israel immediately after the attack was launched by Iran. Presently, there are rumours of an impending third world war should countries decide to join forces with their allies and this confirms the warning of Primate Ayodele that there will be a global crisis that will lead to a premature war.  By the way, he mentioned that there will also be crises between Lebanese and Israel; it’s happening already.

Also, Ali Bongo, the ousted leader of Gabon was serially warned by Primate Ayodele to voluntarily resign to avoid forceful removal. The man of God categorically said that Ali Bongo’s time was up on the presidential seat and that he should allow someone else take over from him but while attempting to extend his rule through a fraudulent election, the military truncated his government.

Barely one month later, The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has recalled Benylin Paediatrics Syrup manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, following recent toxicity findings in the laboratory on the product.

NAFDAC said laboratory analysis conducted on the product showed that it contained an unacceptably high level of Diethylene glycol and was found to cause acute oral toxicity in laboratory animals.

NAFDAC said it had directed the marketing authorisation holder of Benylin Paediatric syrup (Johnson and Johnson company, West Africa) to initiate the recall of the batch and the notice will also be uploaded to the WHO Global Surveillance and Monitoring System.

“Benylin Paediatric syrup is indicated for the relief of cough and its congestive symptoms and for the treatment of hay fever and other allergic conditions in children aged two to 12 years.

Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has called on the opposition in the state to join his administration for the development of Kebbi State.

The Governor during his Sallah message to people of the state said politics is over it's time to work for progress and development of Kebbi. He said his administration is committed to transforming Kebbi State from it's present state to a mega state.

"God has destined us to govern Kebbi State. The opposition has gone to tribunal, appeal court and supreme court to challenge my victory but God has given the victory to us through the people of kebbi State", he said.

Dr. Idris said peace remained the most veritable foundation for socio-economic development in the nation noting that without it development will elude the citizens.

He also called on the people to sustain fervent prayers for the prevalence of security, tranquillity and prosperity  in the state and nationwide. 

The governor said the present economic hardship in the country  was not peculiar to Nigeria, assuring that appropriate measures have been taken by the relevant authorities to ease the hardship and bring the situation back to normal.

He said his administration, in the past ten months, has taken incisive strategies to mitigate the hardship and improve the livelihood of the people in the state.
